Rated 3 out of5 byJambsi fromSize matters I bought this & will keep this because of the size. Finally a M/W that'll fit where existing cupboards are just to low - designed for a conventional hood.

All 3 stars are for the form factor - good job, thanks. As for everything else, not so much. Absolutely the worst installation instructions.

Very poor useage instructions. Eg - somewhere it should tell you where the start button is, or how to cancel a partially input command. To make it worse, go to the website and on an english page ask for the manual and you'll get spanish only - Ugh.

The controls design is for looks, not usefulness. But hey, it applies 1000w of power to my food so that's something. Rated 5 out of5 byLP1964 fromPerfect size Bought this microwave to replace a much larger over the stove unit that quit working. Had always disliked how the large unit restricted access to the back burners of the stove and got hot when we cooked on the stove.

We wished that we had not followed the instructions for placement and had mounted it higher. We were a little worried that this unit might look funny or be too small, but have decided it is the perfect size. I looks great with our other appliances, and I love the 30 second timer. It saves time, but takes a couple of minutes to get used to. Overall, very happy with purchase. Rated 5 out of5 bySoldati fromPerfect!!

I've been so bummed out because I couldn't have a built-in microwave. The space above my range was to low for a traditional one, so I had to put one on the counter top. Well, that took up half my counter and I don't have much counter space to begin with. Then, this Low Profile Microwave from Whirlpool caught my eye when I was at the home improvement store one day, I HAD TO HAVE IT.

I don't know how long it's been out, but I don't care, I bought it and had it installed and it's perfect. It 'Nukes' great and the sounds and alerts are pleasant to hear as opposed to the annoying beeping sound they used to make. It looks bright and sleek, I highly recommend this microwave, I do wish it was priced a little more reasonable, but on the other hand it's worth it. Rated 5 out of5 bygregjames2000 fromGreat size and quality. I rarely use the microwave.

When I do, it is to heat up a frozen dinner. I wanted to free up some counter space and I didn't want to modify my cabinets. This low profile microwave was the perfect solution. The template was durable. It doubles as the mounting bracket.

The hardest part was finding a stud in my plaster walls. After you mount the bracket and drill a few holes, have a helper assist you in getting it hung and bolted down. It functions well. The fan is powerful and the light is sufficient. The stainless steel matches my existing appliances.

The price is higher than I would like. But, it is a quality unit throughout. Rated 4 out of5 bycamden29 fromGreat Microwave, Terrible Install Instructions Just purchased and installed this last night, microwave itself works great and it installs very cleanly.I have only one complaint, the install instructions are absolute garbage. Myself and my friend both read and re-read the instructions multiple times trying to figure out the template/wall mount situation.

I write manuals like this for a living and you forgot one key component. There is no transition in the manual stating to move the cabinet template to the wall and use as a mounting bracket. Yes, in hindsight it makes sense but please amend the installation instructions to include this transition to help DIY installers such as myself. Rated 5 out of5 byLindsey R.

FromSimple install and looks great! We bought the low profile microwave to replace our over the range hood. During our kitchen remodel, we wanted more countertop space, while still having a microwave. The instructions for the installation were complete and easy to follow. The only hang up we had was our original range was hardwired in, so we had to install a new power socket. The microwave only comes down 10 in, which is no larger than the original hood.

We were concerned about not being able to fit items due to the lower height, but we have not found anything that we normally microwave a problem with fitting. It is also very easy to use and fits perfectly in our kitchen. We are so happy with the Microwave! Rated 4 out of5 bydjatplay fromheats well, but no user instructions We have had this microwave for a week now. So far, we are enjoying it.

It heats very well and I have no complaints in that area. I am frustrated however that there are no instructions, so trying to figure out the time and presets is a struggle. The instructions that came with the microwave were basically installation instructions, not user instructions. I have had to try different combinations several times to get the time and power level I want.

For now I will just have to play to figure it out. It is expensive for a microwave that is half the size as my previous one and cost almost half as much. Rated 5 out of5 byChuck CAM fromPerfect solution I just happened to spot this unit at the store and ordered it immediately. In my kitchen, the cabinet over the range is 24' high. Ideally it should have been 18' high to allow adequate room for an over the range microwave and fan unit. Since I cannot find a smaller cabinet that matches the existing cabinets, I was going to just install a range hood fan.

This 'Low Profile' combination unit fits in under the cabinet and still allows 20' clear space between the range and the microwave. A 'perfect Solution.' Thanks Whirlpool. Rated 4 out of5 byPJ 42 fromSmall but mighty We were replacing a full-size microwave and hood that was installed improperly only 13 inches from the burners. It destroyed the unit in 5 years. We were going to just put a hood in and use a countertop microwave.

A salesman at Home Depot told us about this low profile unit, even though they didn't have them in their store. We found one at Spencer's Appliance that very day and they installed it. Much quieter alarms and door operation. Does everything the bigger unit did. Looks neater too and with no handles or controls on the exterior, it's a snap to clean. Con: Controls for light and fan are so sensitive everything turns on when wiping clean.
