Lenovo Safeguard Private Disk Light
I just purchased a T 61 14' screen loaded with faster processor, turbo boast 4 mg ram and vista ultimate. Even when I am doing nothing on the computer the hard drive continues to flash and it stays warm.
Should the HD run constantly even if nothing is being loaded. I went to a friend of mine who disabled some things in systems confiq but that shut down other features like the think advantage button and its activity. Vista seems awful slow booting up and shutting down compared to my home computer with XP pro.any ideas.I am a noob.thanks.

We've all disabled indexing on the drives, disabled System Restore, have all the latest drivers, uninstalled ALL 3rd party software and anti-virus suites, and even have power management to spin down the hdd, but it seems to always maintain a level of activity. Does Lenovo know about this? The HDD light flickers approximately once per second, very consistently.
Am I incorrect to assume the HDD light reflects only HDD activity.
