I have an old game, Hard Truck 2, and I installed it on my Windows 7 laptop. Now everything has loaded, the title screen comes up off colored, and when I go to play the game everything loads EXCEPT the actual graphics. The super far off background loads,the cab loads but outside the cab, nothing. Physically I'm reacting (like if i drive foward ill hit something, I've played the game since I was a little boy so I've memorized the home base, like where the mack sits and the two for hires etc etc. They all comeup) and i can hear everything. I've heard of going to game.exe and switching to compatibility mode but I'm a mechanic not a computer guy, can some one tell me how to get there? Or if this is even correct?

Compatibility mode is found in the games executable (.exe). Use the.exe in the games install folder.R/Click on the.exe and go to Properties then click on theCompatibility tab.It's sounds like this game is a Windows 95-98 vintage so try using compatibility for one of those OS's.I believe that installing the game using Compatibility mode has a better chance of success. This is done on thesetup.exe on the games install disk, but overall Compatibility mode is a long shot.I reckon the main fix for your color problem will be ticking on ' Run in 256 colors' and maybe ' Disable Visual Themes'.'

If you have an interest in how your machine ticks check out the componentparts of the OS by clicking on everything, and fiddle around with settings (being careful to remember where that spring is attached so you know where it goes later) and see what they do.Just type any unfamiliar term into your search engine and you can find a definition for a term or explanation of how various functions work.If you stuff something up you can usually fix it with a System Restore, and the worst that can happen is you have to re-install Windows. Hey guys i just wanted to record a lil of the gqme running on my moms E Machine with 4 gigs RAM and Windows 7 this is KotR version same that my LP is. Unfortunately the movie maker on her comp sux and the sound sounded good but now i see you can barely hear me, sorry jist of it is that it works but the menu in the beguining is all tie tied colors and very hard to read. FRAPS will not pick this problem up lol. As far as getting it to work on your comp, sorry i really dont know much about Win 7 or why it wont work, just know it works on this machine.Link to HT2 KotR.
